HOW DOES IT WORK?

A crown is usually done in two to three appointments. On your first visit, your tooth will be prepared to receive its own crown. It is shaped to fit inside the new covering. Drilling will be involved to shape the tooth.

Once the tooth is prepared, exact copies of your teeth are taken with a putty-like material and sent to the laboratory. A temporary crown will be placed on the tooth while we wait for the permanent crown to arrive.

Your permanent crown will then be attached to your tooth with a resin that hardens when exposed to a special light or a type of permanent cement that is used for these kinds of procedures.

Dental Crown

WHAT IS IT AND WHEN IS IT NEEDED?

A dental crown, sometimes known as a dental cap is a type of dental restoration that completely covers a damaged tooth and acts as a crown. We recommend crowns after root canal treatment as this is the best way to protect your tooth. It can also replace a tooth entirely with a dental implant. These are often used to improve the strength and appearance of your teeth. Contact us now to schedule your appointment!
